A Marketline report valued the UK costume jewellery market at £600m. Had someone asked me to guess, I would not have gone that high! And it has grown £100m in the last five years to find us now in a much more confident retail environment, which was definitely witnessed by Miss Milly at the recent Spring shows. The hard work we've put into our branding and marketing is paying off as over 60% of our show orders are coming from new customers and retailers are eager to stock Miss Milly. And you know the market is bouncing back from recession when new customers sometimes forget to even look at the prices! Aside from our high quality and reasonably priced wholesale jewellery, we also offer a range of scarves. For Spring we have introduced a dozen 100% cotton scarves in pretty pastels alongside our growing collection of viscose products. We are not a scarf specialist but it was a product range that our customers kept asking for. And this season we have noticed a big change in how customers are buying scarves. It used to be very much based on price and, as we're not the cheapest, scarf orders weren't key for us at shows. However, this year, retailers are buying noticeably on design and our show orders have probably doubled, if not more. New range of pretty, wholesale cotton scarves.[/caption] 2014 ended well for Miss Milly and 2015 has started in the same vein, giving us confidence for the year ahead and the hope that maybe Miss Milly will, along with our competitors, get that £600m figure even higher by the end of 2015. But this is no time to rest on our laurels; apart from working through the mound of show orders, the Autumn/Winter collections need finalising...
